Yellow Couch Music
Yellow Couch Music is a collaborative project founded by drummer/producer Layton Weedeman that blends hip hop, jazz, soul, and groove-forward live instrumentation into an expansive, community-driven sound. Rooted in collaboration and improvisation, the project brings together vocalists, emcees, and instrumentalists from diverse musical backgrounds, creating performances that move fluidly between deep grooves, adventurous songwriting, and spontaneous interplay.
John Morrison
John Morrison is a DJ, radio host, and music journalist from Philadelphia. Morrison got his start as a teenager in the late ‘90s, writing for independent hip-hop and punk zines. Since then, his work has appeared in The New York Times, Complex, NPR Music, Spin Magazine, and more. Morrison is also the author of Boyz II Men 40th Anniversary Celebration, a comprehensive book on Philly R&B legends, Boyz II Men. Published in Spring 2025 by Quarto Books/Epic Ink.
DJ Junior
DJ Junior is one of Philadelphia’s premier selectors of indie hip hop, house, rare grooves, broken beat, afrobeat, soul, and global sounds. A lifelong music fan and record collector raised on reggae and soca, Junior is known for thoughtful, genre-spanning sets rooted in discovery and deep musical knowledge.
He is the co-host of Eavesdrop Radio alongside Lil’ Dave, airing Fridays on WKDU 91.7FM and RecordBreakin.com. Through the show, Junior has built a worldwide following by spotlighting independent artists and soulful music outside of the commercial loop, featuring interviews and selections spanning hip hop, jazz, electronic, soul, and beyond.
Junior is also the founder of Record Breakin’ Music, a Philadelphia-based boutique label dedicated to releasing quality music with a soulful foundation. Whether through radio, DJing, writing, or curation, his focus has remained the same: sharing meaningful music and creating space for listeners to discover something new.
Erik Weedeman
Erik Weedeman is a Philadelphia-based painter, illustrator, and University of the Arts graduate whose work focuses on the city’s urban built environment and the characters that exist within it. Drawing inspiration from Philadelphia’s industrial past, transit lines, weathered architecture, graffiti, and overlooked street details, his paintings capture the grit, history, and lived-in rhythm of the city as it exists right now in this moment.
Working across canvas, walls, and signage using latex, acrylic, and spray paint, Erik’s work blends documentary observation with expressive storytelling. His artwork has been displayed at venues and galleries including Drats, Cerulean Arts, and The Plastic Club.
