IZZY ROSS/PATRICK KELLY

Izzy Ross is a drummer, composer, and educator based in Philadelphia. They have been playing the drums since age 12, and pursued a music degree in Instrumental performance at University of the Arts graduating with their BFA in 2024. They have performed with bands such as Honeythunder and Double Dose in the Philadelphia “DIY” music scene. Izzy also has experience doing freelance work ranging in genres such as jazz, indie rock, and R&B. Some of their influences include Brian Blade, Matt Garstka, Chris Dave, and Terri Lyne Carrington.

Patrick Kelly is a South Jersey -Philly based composer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer, primarily writing guitar driven fusion as well as chamber music. Beyond genre, Patrick is focused on reflecting the human experience through a sonic landscape, channeling emotional states into auditory excursions.

This new experimental duo project with Patrick Kelly on guitar and Izzy Ross on drums takes influences from musicians such as Julian Lage and Brian Blade to create a unique sound blurring lines between composition and improvisation. Rooted in rock, jazz, funk, and ambient music, this latest collaboration highlights an exploration in crafting simple tunes with a flexible and malleable nature to them,creating mini-adventures for the listener to follow along and enjoy.
